There’s no longer a Canberra registry wedding office – but Canberran’s needn’t worry – our registry wedding alternative, Lennox Gardens is more affordable and more romantic. This ceremony location is very photogenic, and is the perfect choice for couples wanting a simple and beautiful elopement or micro-wedding ceremony.
Location highlights: Lennox Gardens is quiet and private, peaceful and charming. Our celebrants love this park because it’s always perfect, no matter the weather or the time of year. No other park changes with the seasons as magically as this. The views across the lake, the autumn leaves, cherry blossom season, the stunning art and manicured gardens, the beautiful trees and shrubs, and the private little pockets of space that seem to have been created just for a JMW ceremony make this spot simply brilliant. Not to mention the secret rose garden. Don’t forget to hire a photographer as you’ll want to capture every detail.
Local features: Canberra has every kind of dining and accommodation you could hope for. And nothing is more than 15 mins drive. Whatever you want to do to celebrate afterwards, you can find it in the ACT. For those travelling from afar, there is a lot to see and do in Australia’s capital city.
Important things to note: This is a big park so make sure you check the map of where to meet (we will send this before your wedding day). We don’t want you or your guests to get lost.
Accessibility: Level access from parking. Suitable for wheelchairs users and people with limited mobility (just let your celebrant know in advance so they set up close to paths).
Exact ceremony location: At Just Married Weddings, we use set locations, but not always a fixed spot within those locations. This is because our experienced celebrants (and affiliated photographers) choose the best ceremony spot on the day, based on weather, lighting, time of day, and what else is happening nearby.
You’ll always receive clear meeting point instructions before your ceremony, and your celebrant will guide you from there. If you have a specific spot within the park in mind, simply let your celebrant know in advance — they’ll do their best to accommodate it and ensure the best possible experience on the day.
