Merimbula

Short Point beach or Short Point Headland - a difficult choice to be made - both stunning options on the far south coast of NSW.

Location Highlights: If you're not a local you will be amazed at how beautiful this part of the world is - perfect beaches, un-spoilt stretches of coastline and dreamy crystal-clear water. The beach option will give you that barefoot daydream vibe, or the headland option has panoramic views to give you the epic backdrop your big day deserves.

Local features: Merimbula has the very chilled out vibe everyone wants for an elopement. You will find yourselves coming back year after year to re-live the memories.

Important things to note: Having the choice between a rocky headland and a true sandy beach ceremony location means you have lots of bases covered in terms of windy or very hot days. And if you're 'lucky' and it rains on your wedding day there's a nice shelter here where you will still have ocean views.

Other places you might consider: We have quite a few coastal locations in NSW so you have lots of options to consider: Batemans Bay, Berrara, Burril Lake, Byron Bay. In fact, we have beach locations all over Australia, and lots of non-beach options to consider too.

Sunshine Coast Seaside (Coolum), QLD

The Sunshine Coast is one of the most popular places to get married in QLD - with the best beaches, forests, parks and sunshine. A Sunshine Coast wedding gives you the perfect elopement location and a huge variety of ways to celebrate while you're there. Make it a holiday, make it a party, or make it really low key. Make it whatever you want it to be.

Location Highlights: Who would have thought you could have peace and quiet and 180 degree ocean outlook on the sunshine coast - and still have it all to yourself! While there's no guarantees, this spot is special and usually pretty quiet! Magic. There's also shade here, and some protection from ocean breezes. Hard to find seaside options like this gem.

Local features: Coolum is one of Australia's favorite holiday destinations. With breathtaking landscapes you will agree the Sunshine Coast is perfect for an elopement or destination micro-wedding.

Important things to note:  An important thing to remember when you get married in QLD - the midday sun can be intense - If you are getting married in summer, consider having a morning or sunset ceremony time, the light will be much nicer for photos and you'll be more comfortable.

Other locations to consider:  Be sure to check out our other locations before picking your favorite. Nearby we have locations on the Gold Coast, three Brisbane locations and several down the NSW coast and across Australia.

Cairns, QLD

Run away to tropical north Queensland to really leave your wedding planning woes behind. It is impossible not to love the idea of a relaxed and intimate seaside ceremony with the sea breeze in your hair and a perfectly picturesque palm tree casting some shade over you and your beloved.

Location Highlights: This location is the absolute essence of a tropical paradise. The esplanade is nestled along the sparkling waters of Trinity Bay, showcasing breathtaking views of the Coral Sea. Say "I do" with the azure ocean as your backdrop, and the gentle sound of waves creating a serene atmosphere. The expansive stretch of sandy beach and the swaying palm trees add to the tropical charm, providing a stunning setting that embodies the essence of a beachside wedding.

Local features: 180 degree water views? Tick. Palm trees? Tick. Mangroves? Tick. Tropical elopement perfection? Tick. You just provide the love, Cairns provides the rest. We love everything about Cairns, and we have chosen our location so you can make the most of being in this fabulous town. Close enough to all the action to be a stroll from just the right bar or restaurant for your after celebrations, yet still capturing the natural laid back beachy vibe that makes this the perfect elopement destination.

Important things to note: Sunrise is magic here, if you want an early ceremony. Golden hour (just before dusk) is also fabulous.  This is a new location for us so our first few couples to be wed here can choose between the esplanade option (no sandy toes, lovely shady sea-side location) or the full beach option (quite private and very... well...  beachy!).

Other places you might consider: Couples who are considering a Cairns elopement might also be interested in our Byron Bay elopement package, or check out Townsville for another tropical option.

Shellharbour, NSW

Just north of Kiama and south of Shellharbour, Bass Point is a magical patch of paradise by the sea. This sea-side location is perfect for a sweet and intimate elopement - especially for beach lovers who want to say I do with a magnificent view.

Location highlights:  This stretch of the coastline is spectacular, with its rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and pristine waters. We have chosen this location for the majesty it offers as a back-drop to your special day. It will offer you privacy and intimacy for your ceremony, as the winding trails along the cliff allow you to be entirely alone if you wish. You and your partner (and your celebrant and at least 2 witnesses) can soak up this moment feeling emersed in the natural beauty of the Aussie coastline. The awe-inspiring view will take your breath away.

Local features: Our Bass Point ceremony feels isolated and intimate but is actually really close to a wide range of accommodation and hospitality options - check out Kiama and Shellharbour for places to toast to your happily ever after.

Important things to note: This location has limited availability. Book early to avoid disappointment.

The area is characterized by sandy beaches and lush greenery and native flora, providing a beautiful backdrop for saying I Do.  You can get married on the sand or on the grass overlooking the beach.  Both are gorgeous.

Location highlights: You have the choice here of being married on the grass with a breathtaking ocean view, or on right on the sand to enjoy the soothing sound of the crashing waves and salty sea breaze. The little section of beach near where the lagoon meets the seas is much quieter than the nearby patrolled beaches, so even in summer you can enjoy the intimate beach elopement you have dreamed of.

Local features: Our hidden gem ceremony location in North Wollongong provides easy access for both local and out-of-town guests. Sky Diving into your ceremony also an option for the brave (or crazy).

Important things to note: This area is popular with locals on a warm Saturday afternoon. We can still find you a nice spot for your ceremony but you will need to allow extra time for parking. Or consider choosing a sunset or early morning ceremony for solitude and that magic light your photographer will love.

Accessibility: For those with limited mobility still wanting to get married on the beach this is a good option as you only need to walk about 10m on sand. For wheelchair users or others who can't walk this distance on sand your celebrant can perform the ceremony in the park and set up in a place that allows level access on a concrete path if needed.

Other locations to consider: If you want to elope to Sydney, we have lots of locations to choose from. Or head south to Batemans Bay, Burrill Lake or Berrara.

Private and other-worldly, your photos will be incredible and you will feel like the only people on earth. You also have the choice to stay on the grassy, easily accessed hilltop with views over Sydney's famous beaches.  For a seaside wedding in Sydney's East you will be amazed at how much privacy this spot has (did we mention it's a bit of a secret).  Oh, and it it's raining, and you hire one of our partner photographers, ask them about the secret cave.

Local features: The cliff lines 'round this area are spectacular - so unique and perfect for photos. Then of course the beaches are world famous, so pop down onto the white sand for some of your photos before choosing one of the millions of amazing local restaurants to celebrate at.

Caves Beach, NSW

Our Caves Beach location is perfect for anyone wanting a really relaxed wedding in a beautiful, peaceful location.  With some of the most stunning beaches in NSW, Lake Macquarie locals will be able to continue to enjoy their ceremony location on anniversaries (or just whenever) for years to come. Anyone considering eloping to the Central Coast / Lake Macquarie area will have the most magical and relaxed experience here.

Location highlights: This is an insta-worthy location for your wedding, with white sand and a very back-to-nature vibe.  But you'd already know that if you're a local. There's no need to travel anywhere else for a beautiful wedding when you live on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. And, bonus for pet owners, this is a dog friendly beach, so you can bring your fur babies if you want to.

Local features:  At low tide you will love the photos you can get in the caves at the southern end of the beach. These ancient stone formations by the sparkling sea   create a breathtaking coastal paradise unlike any other. Easy parking, close to popular reception venues and more casual dining options. If you are eloping here, the neighbouring Caves Beach resort is a lovely place to spend your honeymoon.

Important things to note:  There is very little shade here, so in mid-summer we recommend early morning or late evening ceremony times.  In certain places on the beach phone reception is very patchy, so it isn't ideal if you wish to video call family for your ceremony. If you want to avoid the sand, we can hold the ceremony on a grassy area overlooking the beach. Just let your celebrant know.

Accessibility: It is tricky to access the beach, so not suitable for mobility impaired guests or couples. If you are happy to have the ceremony on the grass overlooking the beach there is level access to an area we can use- note that the path is unpaved (a mix of grass/ dirt/ sand). We have had wheelchair users navigate this path easily before, but it might not be suitable for everyone.

Other locations to consider: Another great location for a relaxed wedding ceremony very close by - check out our Newcastle park location. For locations further afield, including QLD, Byron Bay, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth check our list of relaxed wedding locations.

The area of beach we use is a small pocket of sand at one end of the main beach, separated from all the activity by a rock pool, so there’s a little more peace and quiet than you’d expect to find with a Sydney beach wedding. The grass area is also comparatively quiet.

Local features: From scenic coastal picnic locations and charming beachside cafes to impressive restaurants and luxurious accommodation, Collaroy and surrounding suburbs offer the perfect mini-break location if you want to elope - or celebrate after your ceremony with your friends and family.

Important things to note: This location is everyone’s favorite on a beautiful summer's day. While street parking is usually available nearby this area can get busy on sunny weekends and during special events, so just allow extra time for parking. We will still find a quiet patch of paradise to say your I dos.

Other locations to consider: We also have another location for a Sydney beach wedding- in the eastern suburbs. For other non-beach options (which are probably more suitable in colder months) check out our most popular location on the harbour, or the stunning parks in Petersham, Chatswood, Penrith or Parramatta.
