Adelaide Hills, SA

The Adelaide Hills is the perfect elopement destination. Romance abounds here - perfect for your micro-wedding whether you wish to share it with your whole family or just your beloved.  You won't want the day to end.

Location highlights: Where the country meets the city, and wines match the meals, this area is popular with South Australians for a reason.  The foliage in autumn is a particular highlight, the crisp winters and the glorious springs are wonderful and the whole area shines all year round.

Local features: All the towns here have their own personalities, so the hardest thing will be deciding where to stay and celebrate after your ceremony.

Important things to note: The weather in the mountains can be extreme, so maybe check out the climate before setting a date (or at least before choosing your outfits!).

Other locations to consider: You might also want to consider our beautiful seaside and Adelaide hills locations.  In fact we have locations Australia-wide so there's a lot to choose from.

Important things to note: As with all Victorian locations, we suggest the summer months as the perfect time to elope if you have your choice of seasons.  If saying I Do in winter is your jam that's cool - brides it's okay to wear a warm jacket to say I do, and even a nice umbrella might be worth packing, just in case.

Other places you might consider:  In Melbourne we have a beach ceremony location and a CBD park ceremony location. Of course we also have many other locations Australia-wide.

Perth Forest, WA

This little known forest location is magical, mysterious and just a little bit spooky. If you are looking for something unique, our ceremony location in Gnangara Pines is amazing, and might just be your perfect match.  A favourite with photographers who like to think outside the square, our forest location is one of our favourite places to get couples hitched.

Location Highlights: The incredible trees that tower over you during your ceremony will create a sense of awe, and a feeling of there being no one else around for miles.

Local features: This location is rather isolated. Which isn't for everyone, but is perfect if you are a couple who wants their wedding day to be all about them. A true elopement vibe.

Important things to note: This location doesn't have an on-site wet weather location. If its raining on the day we use the shelter in Broadview Park (a lovely park quite close by).

Melbourne CBD Park

Melbourne knows how to charm its locals and guests with beautiful parks and charming venues. Make the most of both with a special ceremony in a quiet park before a short stroll to Federation Square where you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to wining and dining.

Location highlights: How can a park be so pretty and peaceful while being so close to the action you can see the city skyline? Queen Victoria Park is peaceful and convenient, and oh so photogenic. Just perfect for the Melbournian (or traveller) to tie the knot. Just as convenient and affordable as a Melbourne registry wedding but far more beautiful. We use a quiet area beside a pretty little lake, surrounded by manicured lawns and towering trees.  Your photos will be brilliant whether you stay here or take a short walk into town for some more urban shots; heritage building/ graffiti/ funk.

Local features: Melbourne is jam packed with the country’s best restaurants, cafes and bars, so you certainly will be able to celebrate after your ceremony however you please. The ceremony location is a short walk from Federation Square and the CBD,.

Important things to note: Consider a weekday ceremony if you like the idea of having this area almost entirely to yourselves. During big events in the area you may need to allow extra time to arrive for your ceremony. Your celebrant can give you tips for parking.

Accessibility: Suitable for wheelchairs users and people with limited mobility (just let your celebrant know in advance so they set up close to paths).

Other places you might consider: For another great alternative to a Melbourne registry wedding consider our beach location -  Brighton, also perfect for elopements and small intimate ceremonies.

Canberra, ACT

There's no longer a Canberra registry wedding office. But don't despair as our registry wedding alternative is more affordable and more romantic.  Our Canberra ceremony location is very photogenic,  and is the perfect choice for couples wanting a simple and beautiful ceremony.

Location highlights: This location is quiet and private, peaceful and charming. Our celebrants love this park because it's always perfect, no matter the weather or the time of year. No other park changes with the seasons as magically as this. The views across the lake, the autumn leaves, cherry blossom season,  the stunning art and manicured gardens, the beautiful trees and shrubs, and the private little pockets of space that seem to have been created just for a JMW ceremony make this spot simply brilliant. Not to mention the secret rose garden. Don’t forget to hire a photographer as you’ll want to capture every detail.

Wollongong, NSW

This location is one of the best places for a beach wedding in Wollongong.  With the choice of a stunning beach ceremony or a relaxed, leafy park setting, Illawarra locals will be able to continue to enjoy their ceremony location for years to come. Private, yet conveniently located for all the best restaurants and cafes, you will have your choice of a wide range of ways to celebrate after your ceremony.

Location highlights: You have the choice here of being married on the grass or on the sand. The little section of beach near where the lagoom meets the seas is much quieter than the nearby patrolled beaches, so even in summer you can have a ceremony on the sand without a packed beach spoiling your photos. Locals or elopers wanting a small wedding in Wollongong will find this spot ticks all the boxes.

Local features: Easy parking, close to popular reception venues, restaurants and accommodation.  Sky Diving into your ceremony also an option for the brave (or crazy).
